Thanksgiving

My Dear Friends in Christ,

I just want to take this time to remind us while we sit at our Thanksgiving table, let us all think about those that are not with us.  Those that are over seas and those that can not be with us do to a hardship of some kind.  Let us say a special prayer to thank the Lord that although we are separated by many miles we remain close to those people and connected to them by the Lord Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit works with in all of us.  It is a gift that keeps us going through tough times.  It is a gift that we often overlook during these times.  Thank you Lord Jesus for giving us this gift and may your gift of the Holy Spirit spread to many of us Americans who are in need of your comfort.

Many of us are old enough to remember seeing those Norman Rockwell pictures of this sacred family time where family is together and we often would see in the background a fire place burning bright, the warm hearth glowing brightly and warming the hearts of many.  Think of the fireplace as the gift of the Holy Spirit.  A light to warm the hearts of many a family, warmth that we can all use during these up coming months as this nation faces some dark winter times.  Remember too as these dark times come upon us, Jesus said, I am the Light of the world.  No follower of mine shall ever walk in darkness; no he shall possess the light of life. John 8:12

Lord let us give the gift of light to those that are not followers, let all Americans come home soon, Have mercy on those that follow darkness and have not seen the light.

Forgive us oh Lord for our sins and help those who can not come to our table this holiday season.

Amen

I love you all and God Bless you all,

Vern Paul
